My dad, born in the Philippines, once told me a story of when he first visited "The South" during 60s America. He passed by a laundromat that had a sign with the words, "For Whites Only". Confused, my dad's only question from reading the sign was, "Where do people wash their colored clothes?"

While I know horrible things exist, I choose to look at situations from a more positive perspective and to believe that we all have good inside of us. Although my dad's story is more about his naiveté, it's from this childlike perspective I want to approach the world and humanity. This is not a choice to be ignorant, but a choice to hope for better things despite our differences.
