Dr. Abha Mohan, hailing from Kottayam, Kerala, is a dedicated artist with a profound passion for classical Indian dance forms. Her journey in the arts began under the expert guidance of the renowned Mohiniyattam exponent, Dr. Neena Prasad, whose mentorship helped her discover her true essence in Mohiniyattam, the graceful and sensuous classical dance form of Kerala. Over the past 23 years, her rigorous training has enabled her to master the refined lasya bhaava (graceful expressions) and elegant movements that define this art form.

A Doordarshan-graded artist in Mohiniyattam, Dr. Abha Mohan also excels academically, serving as an Assistant Professor of Commerce at Chinmaya University, Kerala. She seamlessly balances her passion for dance with her academic commitments.

  • Played significant roles in acclaimed group productions such as Sithayanam, Krishnabhakti (as Yashoda), Thouryathrikom, and Parijatham (as Rukmini), choreographed by her Guru.
  • Won first prizes in Mohiniyattam, Bharatanatyam, and Kuchipudi at Kerala State Youth Festivals.
  • Earned the title of Kalathilakam at the District School Festival for eight consecutive years.
