ONCE UPON A TIME, A school principal told a slim, shy, reticent student: “Oh you can also run, Abhishek” after winning a medal in athletics.
EVERYDAY I thought I would be a sportsperson. I played Cricket, TT, Running, Cycling competitively with friends, family wherever we found space. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize no one was watching me bat to guide me refine my favorite square-drive.
TILL ONE DAYI took the matters in my own hands and enrolled myself in a Cricket Academy, but it made me feel I am not good enough and I ended up being a computer engineer.
BECAUSE OF THAT I worked in the IT industry for couple of years even excelling in software programming something which I dreaded in my early years of engineering (in addition to pressing keyboard keys, few bench-presses and leg-presses continued the flow of sweat, adrenaline and ultimately ‘the confidence’).
TILL ONE DAY I realized this is not really my calling after I discovered myself and found my own voice whilst taking a stand against the management of a top software company for manipulating mine (and others) roles.
BECAUSE OF THAT I switched my career, googled my way to a Sports Event company and after a brief stint, landed in Australia to study Sports Management, took up all kinds of jobs around the sporting arena (discovered via the yellow pages).
UNTIL FINALLY I discovered a company that wanted to do business in India and fortunately this time there was someone to guide me when my professor said “Abhi, congratulations for placing yourself competitively in the market and remember, never look a gift horse in the mouth”.
AND EVER SINCE THEN I have been running like a horse with a purpose to guide people, businesses augment their efforts in validating their ideas and discovering opportunities in the ever-evolving world of Sports, so they feel they are good enough and place their offering competitively in their target market.
