STORYTELLER & MANAGER
I am interested in collaborating, learning, and continuous self-improvement.
I believe I have a unique combination of skills and interests -- I have analytical/management skills honed in business school and creative/communication skills developed through working in professional theatre.
I describe myself as:
Nonprofit manager -- I am the Director of Development for the Fairfax Library Foundation, raising money in support of educational and community programs for Fairfax County Public Library. I love utilizing my strategic communications skills for such a great cause. I love books and libraries!
Theatre director -- specialties include Shakespeare (accessible adaptations), Irish plays, solo shows, female-centered new plays, heightened language, simplistic/high impact design, focus on storytelling.
Management instructor -- currently teaching Principles of Management as an adjunct at George Mason University; especially interested in job design, motivating employees, organizational culture -- specifically, what the corporate world can learn from the arts.
Writer -- always a storyteller and huge book nerd; currently querying first novel, writing second manuscript, and looking to learn all I can about writing & publishing.
An "entrepreneur-in-waiting" -- always interested in startups and creative business models; actively looking for the right idea for me.
