Most Nigerian brands don’t have a design problem. They have a clarity problem.
They know what they sell, but they can’t tell you why anyone should choose them over the next option on the street. That’s the gap I’ve spent the last 6 years closing.
I’m Abiodun Gbadebo (Kingsley), Art Director, leading production and graphics at Dotts Media House. My work sits at the intersection of strategy, design, and production. I think about what a brand needs to communicate before I touch a single file. But I also do the work, the motion, the layouts, and the system that holds everything together when it goes live.
The Chipper Cash campaign is one I was deep in. I led the design execution across a five-country rollout (Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania) covering billboards, lamppost branding, supermarket and airport screens, and BRT bus wraps. I was also on set for the “Chipper Bank On It” TVC featuring Burna Boy and the “Merry Dingmas” TVC featuring Simi, and contributed to scriptwriting alongside the strategy team. The “Connecting Africa” TVC featuring Patrice Evra was part of the same campaign family. That body of work won four Pitchers Awards (Film Craft, Use of Music, Use of Influencer/Brand, and Film).
Trendupp Awards has been a five-year creative commitment. As Design Lead, I’ve handled motion design, stage visuals, event branding, OOH execution across popular screens in Nigeria, and the Instagram grid rollouts the community looks forward to every year. I also art-directed Trendupp Magazine, including the edition featuring Davido in collaboration with GAC Motors. At Dotts Media House, I art-directed the Nigeria Influencer Marketing Report from the report layout itself to the launch videos and downloadable snackables that carried it into the industry’s hands.
For Oraimo, I was on set for two campaign productions, “Your Space and Sound” and “The Universe of Sound”, both for the SpaceArc launch featuring Burna Boy.
Beyond that, the brands I’ve been part of work done for include Adidas, a premium whisky brand, a fast-growing Yoruba lifestyle brand, and several startups across fintech, real estate, fashion, and logistics.
Beyond campaigns, I’ve built over 10 functional WordPress websites and contributed product and UI designs to fintech products for live apps. I’m also an
AI enthusiast. I’ve been leading conversations around what AI means for creativity and how it changes the way we think, work, and execute, and I write about it regularly in my posts on LinkedIn.
