Abiodun Olusola Omotayo

Dr A.O Omotayo (OCP, Pr.Sci.Nat.) is an extraordinary senior researcher and lecturer in the North West University, South Africa. A position he assumed just after excellently completing his 3 years Postdoctoral fellowship. He obtained his PhD in Agricultural Economics in 2017 from the same institution. He holds an MSc and B. Tech. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan and Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Nigeria, respectively. In both degrees, he ranked in the top 5% of his class.
Abiodun O. Omotayo is an agricultural and applied economic researcher (employing econometric techniques in analyzing agricultural systems to inform policy directions). His research have implications across food security, value chain , sustainable livelihood, environmental, climate change, health & welfare economics as related to the UN's sustainable targets . He is a researcher with passion for innovation, rural community engagement-development & economic policy.
He currently serves a Section Editor for Plos Sustainability and Transformation journal, and as a Review Editor for Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems journal. In addition, he is an active reviewer for more than 15 high impact ISI-rated peer-reviewed journals such as Food Security, Environment, Development and Sustainability, Resources Policy, Agriculture, and Plos One.
Besides contributing to the research community, A.O. Omotayo voluntarily contributes and adds value to several think-thanks organizations through community engagement activities. He has extensively published with reputable high impact peer review journals with more international and local research/project collaborations/ partnership in progress.
