Abiola Metilelu is a visionary entrepreneur, disruptive innovator, and enterprise strategy consultant with over 17 years of experience spanning banking, finance, entrepreneurship, and management consulting. He is the Founder of PressPayNg, Africa’s leading education-focused fintech platform, driving financial inclusion and transforming access to education financing across the continent.
A UNESCO (YFP) Fellow (https://bit.ly/UNESCOabiola), Abiola is deeply committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 1 (No Poverty), and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Through scalable and inclusive financial solutions, he continues to champion economic empowerment for African students and families.
Under his leadership, PressPayNg has pioneered innovative education financing solutions integrating tuition savings, micro-lending, scholarships, and insurance, serving over 450,000 users and generating more than $2million in annualized revenue. His work is helping to democratize access to education while building sustainable systems for Africa’s future.
Abiola holds a BSc in Economics, an MSc in Political Economy & Development Studies, and an MBA in Entrepreneurship, alongside professional fellowships and certifications in enterprise leadership, management consulting, and project management.
His contributions have earned him several prestigious recognitions, including the FortyUnder40 Africa Award (2025), United Nations SDG Digital Game Changer Award – Top 20 Global Finalist (2024), Africa’s Most Outstanding Developmental Innovator of the Decade, and the Sir Ahmadu Bello Leadership Award.
