I am a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Eawag - Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science, ETH-Zurich. I am also a consultant to the World Bank - Global Practice on Water.

My research is largely on water, sanitation and solid waste for development. More specifically, I look at the interactions between the three inter-linked sectors. Currently I manage an applied research project on this topic focused on small towns in Uganda.

My PhD was on planning Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS), globally and more deeply in India and Sub-Saharan Africa. This topic has gained a lot of traction in international development and has investments of several Billion USD around the world. I continue to carry out research on this topic, and support graduate students in this.

I teach WASH and Urbanization at Universities in Europe including ETH, EPFL, Oxford and IHE Delft.

I am passionate about two specific causes:

(i) youth empowerment in the Water and Environmental sectors.

(ii) science communication in terms of writing for common people, public speaking, and other innovative forms including micro-learning videos.

I am on the Advisory board of two WASH platforms: Sustainable Sanitation Alliance, Swiss Water Partnership.

You can know more about me and my work at the official Eawag page or follow me on LinkedIn and Twitter.
