Abusiswe Mafu ( DJ Abu) started her professional career when she was just a young girl , at age ,9 and has since made it half-way around Cape Town showcasing her energetic moves, superb dancing skills and undoubtedly her ability to read the crowd and to entertain them with flawless mixing and excellent track selection. She was groomed by her mentor , Wich is DJ Mara. DJ Mara taught her the deejaying techniques and how to work around cdj's.

DJ Abu created a brand for herself which was " DJ Abu ( The female Deejay ) in 2015 thereafter her career stooped up for the best and she never turned back.

Recently being voted as one of the IPotsoyi Festival SA Next Big Thing Finalists that will be held on the 20th October 2018 . She has just a few achievements in her young but very successful career which has led her to gigs all around Cape Town.

The 20 year old deejay from Khayelitsha leveled up through her journey and had her breakthrough early in 2017 where she featured mostly with CPT local artist , having being given a set at Rands CPT , Ace Groover Lounge , Solly Laroca and many clubs around Cap town . She is also an aspiring brand ambassador for the brand FUN which she endorsed the year 2016 until now .

Her hustle as a young girl continued this year when she became the resident Deejay at Radio KC in Paarl. She paved her way as a young women , sharing the stage with likes of Biza Wethu , Ms Eve , VJ Jhonno , Siya Maestro , Kenlow and many more CPT local artists. Being a female Deejay , alone this industry is an obstacle itself but DJ Abu stood up and told herself she will make it.
