I am a conventionally qualified medical doctor who has practised Western medical acupuncture for 35 years. Though I am now retired I still teach acupuncture to health professionals. I have written several books and numerous articles on this subject. I have also written a historical study of the mediaeval Persian sect of the Assassins, as well as several books on religion and homeopathy. For details of this, and over 400 book reviews, please see www.acampbell.org.uk.
Temperamentally, I have strong leanings towards scepticism in many things, including, perhaps surprisingly, much of the current enthusiasm for alternative medicine, which seems to have many of the features of a belief system, something I deplore. These ideas are also explored in a different way in my two books on religion.
