Due to the admiration I have for my father, I’ve decided to follow in his footsteps. My father is an artist and a business owner, who’s business spreads out over a wide variety of fields that he’s happened to take interest in or find to be a useful skill. My goal is to emulate that all around creativity in my own, hopefully original, way. One big difference between us though, is our interests in reality versus fiction. My father has always had a fascination with reality and history. He loves science, math, and architecture and he reads textbooks for fun. All of the information he has on hand is always relevant to life, he’s never discussed or demonstrated a skill that I’ve found to be irrelevant to our everyday lives. I find pride in the fact that my dad can be considered a sort of jack-of-all-trades. It is one of the things I most want to emulate. But, where he’ll read and figure it out through books, I learn through observation and practice. I love fiction, comics and design, textbooks just seem daunting. I want my future business to center around my abilities and I want to create a business built around my crafts, art and my many creative dreams. I want to see if I can become as successful as my father and overcome those weaknesses that keep me from searching for answers, learning things on my own and reaping the benefits of the skills I’ve yet to begin to use. As my father keeps telling me: You can do anything you set your mind to. You have the ability to do it. You’re creative, smart and innovative. Just get off your butt and do it already.
