Adam J. Rodriguez is an American writer, journalist and filmmaker known for his innovative work in comics and graphic novels, particularly at the strange place where sci-fi and comedy meet. He is best recognized for his Stargazer graphic novels and The Oddness cartoon series.

About the Stargazer Series

Rodriguez’s graphic novel Stargazer: Episode Zero is an experimental work illustrated using early AI. It gained significant attention for its innovative approach and was featured in ArtExMachina, a curated collection alongside renowned illustrator Dave McKean and other notable artists. The comic also reached #1 on Amazon’s bestseller list in the sci-fi category.

Prior to this, Adam wrote the first Stargazer book, a traditionally illustrated comic exploring themes of loss and transformation through the story of Dylan Skyler, a teenager grappling with his father’s mysterious disappearance during the Vietnam War. This installment ranked highly on Amazon, including #1 in Teen & Young Adult Superhero Comics and Sci-fi Graphic Novels.

The Oddness

Rodriguez is also the creator of The Oddness, a surreal and darkly humorous cartoon series drawing comparisons to classics like The Far Side and Bizarro. The series has amassed a loyal following online, and his first book, The Oddness: The First Sighting, features a collection of full-color and black-and-white cartoons brought to life through his collaboration with illustrator Mark Bolita.
