Adam Weitsman

Adam Weitsman is the CEO of Upstate Shredding - Weitsman Recycling, the largest privately held scrap metal recycling company headquartered in Owego, NY, which now has 17 locations throughout New York and Pennsylvania. He co-owns several restaurants throughout NY including The Krebs in Skaneateles, NY, whose profits go towards local charities for women and children.
In 2015, Adam built a heavy media plant in his Owego facility to bring more job opportunities to the Southern Tier region of New York. In July 2018, Weitsman announced the addition of a new shredder to his Port of Albany location to create jobs in the area.
In 2010, Weitsman and his wife, Kim Weitsman, purchased and renovated The Krebs, a historic Skaneateles restaurant. The Weitsmans donate the profits to charities throughout Central New York. In 2019, Weitsman plans to open a sushi restaurant in Owego and a sports bar in downtown Binghamton.
An art collector and philanthropist, Adam donated his 19th-century American stoneware collection valued at $10 million to the New York State Museum in Albany in 2014.
Adam has become known as one of Syracuse basketball’s biggest fans, and is also a long-time, proud supporter of the Boys & Girls Club. In 2019, Weitsman made a donation of $175,000 in celebration of Syracuse’s win over Duke.
Adam attended the Owego Free Academy and has taken courses in art and business at NYU, Long Island University, and Harvard University. He currently lives in Skaneateles, NY with his wife and three children.
