Adam Shapiro
Congressional Appropriations Liasion in Washington D.C.
Adam Clay Shapiro is a small business owner and a seasoned government affairs professional. In December 2021, he and his wife launched Rosehill Cottage on the Rappahannock, a short term rental river front property in Locust Hill, VA. Since June 2021 he serves as a Congressional Affairs Appropriations Liasion to the Department of Energy.
Prior to working for the Department of Energy, he spent seven years at FEMA, setting up their congressional affairs appropriations team, transforming the Flood Insurance and Mitigation Administration, and served as the Reslience subject matter expert on the Agency’s intergovernmental and congressional affairs teams. Adam is both a Texas legislature and Capitol Hill Senate alum.
He received his MA from George Mason’s School of Policy, Government, and International Affairs (SPGIA) and received a BA in Political Science and International Affairs from the University of Kansas.
He like sports and traveling. He lives on Capitol Hill with his wife and (his wife’s) cat.
