Adam Weitsman

I’m Adam Weitsman, CEO of Upstate Shredding – Ben Weitsman & Son, a scrap metal processing and recycling company based in Owego, New York.

I grew up in the recycling industry. It’s been part of my life from the start. Today, I focus on building systems that move material efficiently, scale operations, and support long-term growth across multiple locations in the Northeast.

My approach is simple: understand the fundamentals, stay close to operations, and execute consistently.

Before returning to the family business, I spent time in New York City’s art world, where I owned an American Folk Art gallery in Greenwich Village. That experience shaped my interest in collecting and markets. I continue to follow and invest in areas where culture and value intersect, including contemporary art, American ceramics, and digital assets.

Outside of business, I’m involved in hospitality and community-focused initiatives in Skaneateles, New York. I believe business and community are connected, and I focus on building ventures that support both.
