Janis Adams

As the Founder and Owner of Santa Monica, California-based Academic Achievers LLC, Janis Adams connects students seeking academic assistance and enrichment with qualified tutors. Since launching her business in 2009, Adams works to vet and hire tutors, source auxiliary leaning tools, and direct company sales. Committed to teaching youth, Janis Adams sits on the docent council at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Prior to her current work, Janis Adams taught high school English for more than 15 years in the Los Angeles Unified School District. In this role, in addition to developing the curriculum and preparing plans, she supervised media projects, produced the annual "The Media Academy Awards," and maintained the class website. Janis Adams also co-founded the school's Media Academy.

Completing undergraduate degrees in English and Education from Penn State University, Janis Adams went on to study at UCLA, earning her California Teachers Certification. She is member of the National Tutoring Association and National Organization of Women Business Owners.
