Adam M. Smith

I currently live in York, Pennsylvania where I grew up and have spent most of my life here (with exception of 2007-2009 where I lived in the DFW Metroplex in Texas). I am married and have a daughter and along with our dog, we are a very happy family.

I am currently enrolled in the adult accelerated degree program at Elizabethtown College so I can finally achieve my goal of finishing my degree. My goal is to have my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration sometime in 2017. My goal is to eventually get back into professional sports in the retail aspect but to be in the back end offices in a position similar to buying or allocating.

I currently work at York Barbell which is a York institution and has been around since 1932 providing quality weight and fitness equipment. I am the Retail Director here, running all aspects of our outlet store including; inventory management, pricing & promotions, merchandising, purchasing and even marketing.

Along with that I am also the social media manager as I run all accounts including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to name a few. But wait, that isn't it...

I was also given the task of handling aspects of the USA Weightlifting Hall of Fame and Museum that we have here on the premises. I am doing what I can to raise funds so we can do a much needed update and improvement. I was also project manager for the remodel of the outlet store which was completed back in October 2013.

All of my professional experience has been in retail management and has been involved in the sports industry in one way or another. Spanning from where I am now, to sporting goods stores, athletic footwear and apparel with Reebok and even with the Dallas Cowboys in their merchandising department as a retail manager and then promoted to a special events coordinator in 2009 in the first season in the new AT&T Stadium (then called Cowboys Stadium).
