I'm a graduate student at Mississippi State University researching bioinformatics while I work on a master's degree in computer science. My bachelor's degree is in software engineering. Because of this, I value code that is not just written but designed to accomplish a specific purpose and to accomplish it efficiently.
Currently, I'm researching probabilistic assignment of high-throughput sequence data in metatranscriptomic studies under Dr. Andy Perkins. The objective of the study is to see whether sequence data that could have come from any organism in the study could be reliably assigned to an organism through the use of probability.
