Addie Hampton

Greenville, Sc

Addie Hampton joined 7 On Your Side in January 2014 as a reporter based in Greenville.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Addie got her start at WMBB-TV in Panama City, Florida as a General Assignment Reporter. She was soon appointed chief reporter for the region’s largest county as well as political reporter, court reporter and fill-in anchor.

Her background in working on political campaigns and ability to break down the local impact of national and regional issues aided her coverage of Election 2012, the impact of the "fiscal cliff", changes in the Affordable Healthcare Act, and the civilian impacts of sequestration.

Addie is a cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia's esteemed Grady College of Journalism with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Digital Media with emphases on Political Science. There she was an anchor, reporter and executive producer for "UGA Newsource" on WNEG, which, at that time, was the only television news outlet for 26 counties in Northeast Georgia.

Her coverage of a three day man hunt of a cop killer and his live televised surrender earned Addie a Hearst Award nomination.

She was a summer 2011 intern with WSB-TV in Atlanta, where she went undercover to catch drug dealers in the act!

In her spare time, Addie enjoys spending time with her rescue dog, Rosie, walking and biking, singing in her church choir and community events, and cheering on her beloved Georgia Bulldogs.
