Adesewa Olofinko is a freelance journalist and executive editor of blackladywriter.com, an independent blog that covers women’s rights and demystifies feminism in the African space.

She has had experiences that span a decade as a radio and television presenter, producer, and writer. Her topical focal point is promoting stories that advocate gender equality and inclusivity through various media forms. Other main areas of coverage are social justice, politics, and, overall, evoking positive social change via storytelling in the African community.

She holds a bachelor's degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, complemented by certifications in Media Campaigns for Social Change, and Target Audience Mapping from the Radio Netherlands Training Center, Netherlands. Additionally, she earned a diploma in Creative Producing from the EbonyLife Creative Academy in Lagos, Nigeria.

Adesewa is the founder and director of the Rolasesi Elderly Persons Support Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing the needs of vulnerable elderly individuals in low-income communities in south-west Nigeria. She has been instrumental in creating impactful campaigns, designing and implementing social programs, and spearheading community-driven initiatives such as #ChristmasWithTheElderly, #FoodDrive, #AdoptAnElderly, and #VeteransFoodBank.

Adesewa Olofinko is an active member of the RNTC Alumni Network for journalists and has been recognized for her leadership through the Partners West-Africa Nigeria (2021) Fellowship for young women in leadership, the Margaret Ekpo Youth Fellowship (2021) for young women activists, and an African Union Media Fellowship for the year 2023.
