Adewale S. Adekunle (Light) is a dynamic and versatile Nigerian screenwriter, indie filmmaker, film researcher and personal essayist with a passion for telling stories that resonate.

Light as he is fondly called is a certified scriptwriter from Terra Academy for the Arts (TAFTA), with additional certifications in Creative Writing from Wesley University and Filmmaking from KAP Film & Television Academy. He holds a degree in Sociology from the prestigious University of Ibadan, a background that deeply informs his storytelling with rich social insight and character depth.

Adewale specializes in psychological drama, thrillers, and comedy, often blending real-world themes with creative tension and emotional authenticity. His screenwriting credits include seven feature-length scripts, ten web series, over thirty short films, and more than forty comedic skits that explore everyday life with wit and originality.

His collaborative works span across Nollywood and the digital creator space, having worked with respected indie filmmakers and content powerhouses such as Ruth Kadiri, Director Augustine, Edem Victor, Samspedy, Mr. Macaroni, Lord Lamba, OGB Recent, Brain Jotter, Sirbalo, and Tunde Eko.

He is the founder of Archive 042,an indie film studio dedicated to capturing the moments, emotions, and stories that makes us human particularly within low-budget formats like documentaries, short films and experimental narratives .

ILLUSION, his short film which marks his directorial debut—a psychological short film that explores the unsettling concept of human powerlessness against societal control was premiere at the 2024 edition of Enugu Photo Festival and it has been further screened at Fadaka Fest and IFA Open Mic Session.
