Busolami Adewale is a researcher in Coastal and Environmental Sciences with a recently completed master’s degree in Coastal, Harbour, and Offshore Engineering. Her academic journey integrates marine science, coastal engineering, and climate-resilience research, reflecting her passion for addressing the pressing challenges facing coastal communities.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in marine science and technology from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, and has distinguished herself with multiple academic awards, including recognition as the Most Outstanding Student at Wuhan University and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) during her international summer research program in China.

Busolami’s research focuses on coastal hazards, flooding, shoreline change, and the application of GIS, numerical modelling, and decision-support tools to improve coastal resilience. She is the author of the peer-reviewed paper “An Integrated Multi-Criterion Approach for Flood Vulnerability Assessment in Nigeria’s Mahin Mud Coast,” along with a co-authored publication, “Effects of Localized Development on Land Use and Coastline Dynamics Along the Lekki Peninsula.” Her work contributes valuable insights into environmental change, risk assessment, and sustainable coastal management.

Beyond academic research, she is an active environmental writer and advocate, contributing articles to public-facing platforms to raise awareness about environmental protection and climate adaptation.

She is now seeking a fully funded PhD opportunity in Coastal Engineering, Climate Science, or Environmental Hydrodynamics—where she can expand her expertise in ocean–climate interactions, coastal modelling, and resilience planning.
