For over twenty years my career has been a journey of exploration, driven by a desire to learn and build impactful technology. I've been fortunate to move between leadership and hands-on technical roles, each time seeking the challenge that would teach me the most. I never moved because a job was going badly. I moved because I had stopped being confused, and being confused turned out to be the part I liked.

After years leading large engineering organizations across Google Maps, Core, Core ML, and the AI Developer group, I came full circle and returned to my roots as a builder, spending my last year at Google as a Distinguished Engineer at DeepMind working on AI agents and developer tools, including the Gemini CLI and the Antigravity SDK.

In 2026, after twenty one years, I left to take that further. I'm the co-founder and CTO of Vycari, where Chris Perry and I are building agents for everyone who doesn't want AI to become a hobby. Getting real value from an agent today means curating skills, picking models, managing keys, and configuring sandboxes. That's not a tool, it's a pastime, and most people don't want one. Closing the distance between what these systems can do and what an ordinary person actually gets out of them is the most interesting problem I know.
