Project

Just a few weeks ago, I have started to do a project with my friends on a self navigating robot. The Google Sketchup diagram of the same is shown in the backdrop. The concept is as follows:

  1. The robot shall be driven by dc motor
  2. A GPS module shall be used to get the coordinates of the position of the the robot
  3. A laptop shall communicate with Google Maps and shall use the coordinates available to get the direction
  4. An on board electronic compass shall allow the program to understand how the robot should turn to achieve the required direction
  5. A stepper motor shall have a SONAR senor mounted on its shaft. This sensor shall be be moved in semicircles using the stepper motor to scan the area in front of the robot like a radar map
  6. A camera in front of the vehicle shall only be used to detect the boundary of the road
  7. Battery shall be placed onboard
