Project
Just a few weeks ago, I have started to do a project with my friends on a self navigating robot. The Google Sketchup diagram of the same is shown in the backdrop. The concept is as follows:
- The robot shall be driven by dc motor
- A GPS module shall be used to get the coordinates of the position of the the robot
- A laptop shall communicate with Google Maps and shall use the coordinates available to get the direction
- An on board electronic compass shall allow the program to understand how the robot should turn to achieve the required direction
- A stepper motor shall have a SONAR senor mounted on its shaft. This sensor shall be be moved in semicircles using the stepper motor to scan the area in front of the robot like a radar map
- A camera in front of the vehicle shall only be used to detect the boundary of the road
- Battery shall be placed onboard
