David Hancock

Oxfordshire, United Kingdom

A specialist in thermal and mechanical design for high heat flux and RF applications, I have been designing components for international research into fusion energy since 2007.

In October 2014, I began work on a PhD with the University of Sheffield, exploring the potential of additive manufacturing techniques in high heat flux applications.

Before becoming an engineer, I spent time as a secondary school physics teacher and international student worker.

Outside work, I love exploring the great outdoors with my family or on my bike, as well as fixing anything broken that I can get my hands on, after which I can usually be found curled up with a book or in front of a film.
