I was born and brought up in India. However, during my life I have lived in Singapore and the US as well. This international upbringing shapes my outlook and perspectives. And, I have developed a love of travelling, having travelled to 12 other countries. I enjoy learning about the world, its many cultures and meeting diverse people.
I did undergrad at the Singapore Management University, majoring in Economics and Finance. This was an amazing four years of my life. I took courses from varied disciplines, took active part in various extra curricular-activities (such as the Entrepreneurship society of which I became Treasurer), and had some unique internships. I am an inquisitive person, and love the university environment where I can discover new things about the world.
Over the past four years, I have worked in the Investment Bank arm of Barclays. Here, I have been part of the Graduate rotation program where I have worked across four teams in the Finance function. Due to the rotations, I was exposed to different facets of the Finance function from Cost Management to Regulatory Reporting & Control to Project Management. I had to pick up new skills and knowledge quickly and contribute to the teams in which I worked. I have worked with Barclays’ employees across Asia, UK, and US. Also, I have worked on initiatives that required collaboration with employees of other functions. Here, I learned the basics of accounting, gained understanding of Basel regulations and experience in cost control and project management. I have gained the trust of my colleagues and built great relationships because of my responsible nature. I take full ownership of my work, and deliver on my commitments.
I am inspired to use these skills and experiences to do work which has meaning and impact.
