Adnan Sheikh is an Indian entrepreneur, designer, and business executive, best known as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer ofAdziran, a luxury interior design and semi-precious stone furniture company headquartered in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is recognized for integrating traditional Indian craftsmanship—particularly Mughal-era stone inlay techniques—with contemporary luxury interior design for global residential, commercial, and religious projects.

Early life and background

Adnan Sheikh was born and raised in Agra, a city internationally known for its Mughal architecture and centuries-old stone craftsmanship traditions. His family has been associated with stone inlay, decorative masonry, and handicraft work for several generations, with roots tracing back hundreds of years. According to family history and regional media reports, Sheikh’s ancestors were part of the artisan communities that contributed decorative stonework during the Mughal period, including work connected to monuments in and around the Taj Mahal.

Several Hindi news channels and regional publications have referenced this legacy, noting that Adnan ke poorvajon ne bakshi thiTaj Mahalko khubsurti”, a phrase commonly used to describe the historical contribution of his forebears to the region’s stone artistry. While such work was traditionally collective and undocumented at an individual level, the family’s longstanding association with Mughal-era inlay craftsmanship has been widely acknowledged in local artisanal circles.

Sheikh grew up near the Taj Mahal precinct, where exposure to heritage monuments, traditional workshops, and master craftsmen shaped his early understanding of stone art, design precision, and handcrafted luxury. This environment played a formative role in shaping his design philosophy, which later became central to Adziran’s identity.

Education

Sheikh holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree from Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University. He later pursued specialized training in Handicraft Designing from the IVS School of Design, where he developed technical knowledge in material aesthetics, traditional craft techniques, and contemporary design processes.

Career and Education

Sheikh began his professional journey by modernizing and expanding a family-run handicraft enterprise, transforming inherited artisanal knowledge into a structured, professionally managed organization that later evolved into Adziran. Since 2009, he has served as the company’s Managing Director and later as its Chief Executive Officer, leading its transition from a traditional craft business into a full-scale design, engineering, and manufacturing organization with international operations.

Under his leadership, Adziran developed a strong reputation for precision-driven execution, innovative material usage, and the ability to manage large-scale, technically complex projects. The company operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Agra and employs a multidisciplinary team of professional engineers, designers, and skilled craftsmen. This integrated structure allows Adziran to maintain strict quality control across all stages of production, from concept development to final installation.

Design approach and Craftsmanship

Adnan Sheikh’s work is guided by the belief that luxury design should balance artistic expression with functional purpose. Adziran’s design process combines modern tools such as computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D modeling with traditional handcrafting techniques practiced by Indian artisans for generations.

The company specializes in furniture and decorative objects crafted from semi-precious stones, including lapis lazuli, malachite, turquoise, onyx, mother of pearl, jade, quartz, and agate. Each piece is produced as a limited edition and accompanied by authenticity certification, reflecting the brand’s emphasis on originality, material integrity, and long-term durability.

Recognition and notable work

In 2022, Adziran received wider public attention after luxury gift and trophy boxes designed and manufactured by the company were associated with the FIFA World Cup. According to newspaper reports, the boxes were crafted in Agra using semi-precious stones and traditional Indian stone-inlay techniques, supported by modern 3D design and engineering processes. The coverage highlighted the international reach of the project and showcased Indian craftsmanship on a global sporting platform.

Sheikh has received several industry and community recognitions, including:
