Adnan Soykot
Filmmaker, Director, and producer in Dhaka, Bangladesh
Adnan Soykot is a Bangladeshi filmmaker, film editor, and graphic designer, currently studying in the Department of Film and Television at Jagannath University, Dhaka. He is the Founder and Director of Khirki Films and the former President of the Jagannath University Film Society (JNUFS).
His directorial debut short film Puroskar (2022) received international recognition, screening at major film festivals and winning awards in Kolkata and Paris. Adnan later made his debut in full-length fiction with Aladiner Prodeepe Jevabe Doitya Elo, produced for the renowned Bangladeshi OTT platform Bongo Originals.
Alongside directing, he has worked extensively as an editor, producer, and creative strategist on films, documentaries, promotional content, and music videos. He also served as Festival President of the 1st Jagannath University National Film Festival (JNUFF 2025), contributing actively to student filmmaking culture in Bangladesh.
Beyond production work, Adnan is engaged in film research and writing, exploring cinematic language, film theory, and media culture. His work blends storytelling, visual design, and contemporary themes, driven by a deep interest in cinema as both art and social expression.
