Adrian McKenna (Ado) is a 53 year old native of Bray Co Wicklow, Ireland.

He is married to Nuala and they have one son Dave who is a Lieutenant in the Irish Navy and married to Grace who is a Garda, they have a little boy named Evan.

Ado is a frontline social care professional; he has worked for many years with young people and adults in residential care, detention services, mental health services and post-adoption services. He currently works with a large Dublin-based charity as a Deputy Manager with homeless services.

He is a Member of the Social Care Workers registration board at , Social Care Ireland , Social Justice Ireland and is a Servant Leader Trained professional.He is a trained supervisor and looks after all social care student placements for the organisation he works with.He has just finished studying Leadership and Management in Applied Social Care at DIT at level 9

He regularly gives talks to young people and adults/parent groups in schools and colleges and can adapt to suit the curriculum that is being worked to. He works one to one with parents and young people and helps them problem solve their parenting and relationship issues, he specialises in post adoption support with adults who have been adopted.

He has presented at the conference Social Care and Social Policy in Ireland: Seeking Social Justice in the Era of Austerity and Beyond in DIT 2015 and The Social Care Ireland Conference 2016,2017,2018 and 2019. He has been in involved in curriculum review panels in ITB and DIT and he most recently represented front-line professionals on the 5 year curriculum review in Cork IT.

He regularly guest lectures in ITB, LIT, NUIM and DIT on the Management, Interculturalism, reflective practice in youth work and Supervision modules.
