Adrian McKenna (Ado) is a 59 year old native of Bray Co Wicklow, Ireland.

He is married to Nuala and they have one son Dave who is a Captain in the Irish Army and married to Grace who is a Detective, they have two little boys named Evan and Richie.

Ado is a frontline social care professional and trained Clinical Supervisor ; He is the recipient of the Social Care Ireland “outstanding achievement in social care ” award 2022. He has worked for many years with young people and adults in residential care, detention services, mental health services, and post-adoption services. He currently works with a large Dublin-based charity as part of the Management team with their homeless services.

He was a Member of the Social Care Workers registration board at www.coru.ie from it's inception until March 2023 ,serving 8 years in total. He was also a member of the collaborative forum for former residents of Mother and Baby homes and related institutions, is a member of Social Care Ireland , Social Justice Ireland, a member of the International Critical Incident Stress Management Foundation and is a Servant Leader Trained professional.He is a trained supervisor and looks after all social care student placements for the organisation he works with. He studied Cross Professional Clinical Supervision with www.ichas.ie at level 9, Leadership and Management in Applied Social Care at TUD Grangegorman at level 9, is Critical Incident Stress Management trained, and is part of the Crosscare critical incident response team.

He regularly gives talks and training to young people, adults/parent groups and social care professionals in schools and colleges and work settings and can adapt to suit the curriculum that is being worked to. He works one to one with parents, young people and social care teams and helps them problem solve their parenting, relationship and work based issues, he specialises in social care supervision, career advice and post adoption support with adults who have been adopted.

He has presented at the conference Social Care and Social Policy in Ireland: Seeking Social Justice in the Era of Austerity and Beyond in TUD Grangegorman 2015 and The Social Care Ireland Conference 2016,2017,2018,2019,2021, 2022 and 2023.

He regularly guest lectures in third level social care settings.
