Simon Sorour, also known as Adovion, is a self-taught artist from Scotland. From a young age, Simon has had a passion for drawing. His artwork mainly consists of fanart, which is heavily influenced by anime, manga and video games; all of which Simon has admired throughout his life and journey as an artist.

During his younger years, Simon was anxious to show off his illustrations, especially to his peers. Because of his reserved nature, he would avoid making himself noticed in his art classes. He also struggled to connect with people with similar interests, with the exception of his family. Despite this, Simon grew out of his shell, eventually managing to branch out and find his calling outside of the classroom. It was not until Simon was much older and discovered deviantART, a website that displays a collection of illustrations from varied artists, where he started posting his art online and discovering people with similar interests. His confidence developed, and Simon began posting more drawings online, even to this very day. Though Simon has faced struggles defining himself as an artist; he has never let that stop him from doing what he loves to do.

Simon successfully taught himself how to draw, he started by imitating styles such as anime and Japanese video games. He drew inspiration for his illustrations by looking at the artwork in TV series like Dragon Ball Z and video game booklets - for example, The Legend of Zelda. He would sit and sketch his favourite characters from his most beloved games and movies. As his passion developed, he started refining his skills, first by reading art-related books and practising subject matters such as human anatomy. As the internet became more prominent in his adolescent years, Simon moved onto watching tutorials online which helped him evolve and develop his abilities. Simon then went on to Edinburgh College where he spent 3 years studying Interactive Media and Graphics Design and graduated with an A level at HND.

Simon is a dreamer, and what he presents here is his dream of potential. He gives to the viewer the volume of his work and experiences both as a designer and as an artist; it's his tears, his sweat, and the result of innumerable hours spent creating inspirational work, showcasing his capability throughout the years. To this day, Simon still learns and experiments and is a strong believer that there is always room to learn and progress.
