Student, Cashier, and Assistant Director in New York
Hello, I’m Adriana. I’m a student living in New York. I am the fourth of five children. I have two jobs. One of my jobs is working as a cashier at a hardware store on weekends. During the week I work at an after school program and I am the Assistant Director. On my spare time I love to run (especially in the summer). If you know me, you know that I absolutely LOVE to eat.
As a student, my major is currently Liberal Arts in Social Science. This is my second semester of college and just the beginning of new things. I am not yet sure of what I would like to major in, so this is my start.
To me communication is any form of message that a person gives out whether it is verbal or nonverbal. A person can say so much or so little with just his or her body language.
I have never spoken in public before. I have some fears of public speaking, but not too many. It is a nerve-wracking feeling to know that there are plenty of eyes watching me, ready to hear what it is that I have to say. I also fear forgetting the information that I know or have researched.
My hopes are to come out of this class with a better understanding of communication and also to feel comfortable presenting information wherever and whenever.
