Adrian Preston Brown

Adrian Preston Brown—known to many as Preston—is carefully building his future with a steady focus. He was born in Orlando, Florida, and now lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is a student at Central Piedmont Community College, where he has maintained a 4.0 GPA for two consecutive semesters. This number reflects his dedication, but it is only a part of a larger story shaped by family and perseverance.

College can be challenging, with classes, assignments, and time management demanding daily attention. His journey through college has not been straightforward. Many moments filled with uncertainty and obstacles could have led him off course. Instead of letting these moments discourage him, he focused on what matters most: family.

Family is his source of strength. Preston Brown of Florida credits them for helping him continue, showing up, and pushing forward during tough times. Their steady support has kept him grounded and reminded him of his capabilities, even when situations become difficult.

Adrian is dedicated to his studies and is a runner currently training for a marathon. This training requires commitment, including long runs, speed sessions, and strength training, while managing both mental and physical fatigue. For him, running is more than a physical activity; it helps him clear his mind, challenges him, and keeps him disciplined. He finds similarities between running and his academic journey, understanding that progress comes slowly and requires persistence, even when it feels hard to continue.

Preston Brown has earned membership in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, which recognizes students who achieve high academic standards at two-year colleges and universities. For him, being part of this honor society means more than having high grades. It represents leadership, service, and integrity, values he works to uphold. This achievement came through hard work, balancing academic responsibilities with personal goals and family commitments.

Even with a full schedule, Adrian makes time to volunteer. He has coached at youth camps and assisted with ski programs in Colorado. He has recently started volunteering with Second Harvest Food Bank in Charlotte. His approach to giving back is simple: if he can help others, he will take the opportunity.

Preston Brown does not seek attention but values showing up when it matters. On May 14th, he will serve as a marshal at Central Piedmont’s graduation ceremony at Bojangles Coliseum.
