Adrienne Jane Burke

Writer, Editor, and Small Business Owner in Easton, Connecticut

I've been writing about innovators and entrepreneurs since 1993. Presently, I'm engaged as a freelance writer and editor for a few brilliant business people and companies, including Ed Eppley, with whom I'll be publishing a book about management and leadership in 2017.

As a freelance journalist, I've written for Techonomy, Yahoo, Technology Review,, Huffington Post, and others. I also curate the feminist newsletter NastyGlobe.

In 2000, I was the founding editor of Genome Technology Magazine, which started covering genomics before most people knew the word. Next, as executive editor at the New York Academy of Sciences and curator of its Science & the City program, I developed a popular events series that introduced public audiences to great minds like Leslie Vosshall, Lisa Randall, Helen Fisher, Nathan Myhrvold, E.O. Wilson, Christof Koch, and dozens more. The New York Times covered the series, and so did NPR and WNET-13.

Decorating is my right-brain passion, and I've had a small wedding design business since 2003. I've decorated weddings for happy couples in NY, CT, and PA at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Bubby's Brooklyn, Frankie's Spuntino, Harkness State Park, Merion Tribute House, and in several private barns.
