Adrienne Jane Burke

Writer, Editor, and Small Business Owner in Easton, Connecticut

I've been writing about innovators and entrepreneurs since 1993. Presently, I'm engaged as a freelance writer and editor for a few brilliant business people and companies, including Ed Eppley, with whom I published a management and leadership book, Let's Be Clear, in 2018.

As a freelance journalist, I've written for Techonomy, Yahoo, MIT's Technology Review, Forbes.com, Huffington Post, and others. Corporate writing clients have included Texas Instruments, Philips, HPE, GE Ventures, cPrime, Learning Design Network, and more.

In 2000, I was the founding editor of Genome Technology Magazine, which started covering genomics before most people knew the word. Next, as executive editor at the New York Academy of Sciences and curator of its Science & the City program, I developed a popular events series that brought scientists and artists together onstage to explore and explain scientific concepts. The New York Times covered the series, and so did NPR and WNET-13.

Decorating is my right-brain passion, and I've had a small wedding design business since 2003. I've decorated weddings for happy couples in NY, CT, and PA at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Bubby's Brooklyn, Frankie's Spuntino, Harkness State Park, Merion Tribute House, and in several private barns.

Presently, I'm also at work designing a small coffee bar and specialty foods market in an historic building in Fairfield County Connecticut, set to open in fall 2018.
