Autobiographical Note
Adv. Ganesh Shrirang Satarkar
I am Adv. Ganesh Shrirang Satarkar, an independent legal practitioner, researcher, and multidisciplinary scholar whose journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to education, justice, and social responsibility. My life reflects a continuous effort to understand society through learning, professional practice, and reflective inquiry.
My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri. Studying agriculture exposed me to the realities of rural India, agrarian distress, land relations, and the role of policy and law in shaping livelihoods. This early exposure helped me develop a scientific temper, analytical thinking, and sensitivity toward social and economic inequalities.
Seeking to broaden my understanding of institutions and human behavior, I pursued an MBA in Marketing from Shivaji University. Management education strengthened my communication skills, organizational understanding, and decision-making abilities. It also helped me appreciate how governance, ethics, and compliance influence institutions—an insight that later proved valuable in my legal career.
From 2013 to 2016, I worked as an Audit Assistant at AASAA & Associates, Pune. This professional experience trained me in documentation, internal control systems, financial discipline, and regulatory compliance. It instilled in me a strong sense of professional responsibility, accuracy, and ethical conduct.
Despite corporate exposure, I felt a strong inclination toward law and justice. I pursued LL.B. (Special) from Shivaji University and later completed an LL.M. in Criminal Law from Savitribai Phule Pune University. Legal education transformed my worldview. It enabled me to critically engage with constitutional values, criminal justice administration, and the role of law as an instrument of social change.
My academic commitment was further affirmed when I qualified the UGC NET in Law and Criminology. Alongside formal degrees, I pursued multiple interdisciplinary qualifications in labour law, alternative dispute resolution, criminology, mass communication, information technology, and Ambedkar Thought. This multidisciplinary approach defines my intellectual identity.
I began my independent legal practice in November 2021 after enrolling with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa. As an advocate, I have handled civil, criminal, and family law matters, including bail applications, trials, drafting of pleadings, legal notices, contracts, and property documentation. Courtroom practice has taught me humility, patience, and the importance of ethical advocacy.
Parallel to practice, I remain deeply engaged in research and academic writing. I have authored numerous scholarly works on constitutional law, criminology, cyber law, artificial intelligence, victimology, labour legislation, and social justice. Writing allows me to bridge theory and practice and contribute to contemporary legal discourse.
My personal philosophy is grounded in integrity, self-discipline, and service to society. I believe that law must remain humane, inclusive, and responsive to social realities. I view education as both a privilege and a responsibility.
Looking ahead, I aspire to contribute to higher education and policy-oriented legal research through doctoral studies, teaching, and scholarship. My journey so far reflects not an endpoint, but an ongoing commitment to learning, justice, and public service.
