Greetings, I’m Advaith. Moving and traveling to different places with my family is one of the most important aspects of my life.
Ever since I was young, my family used to often travel and move around, whether it be to different parts of the country, or internationally. I was born in West Palm Beach, Florida where cities such as Orlando and Miami were only a few hours away. My parents would take me to various beaches and attractions such as Disney World.
When I was 4, my family moved to India. I only knew how to speak English in a country where most people did not normally communicate in English and I had lost all my friends. I had to adjust to a new lifestyle, people, and culture.
2 years later, I moved back to the United States, this time to an apartment in Dunwoody, GA where I had to again adjust to the culture and people.
After 4 more years, my family bought and moved to a house in Cumming, GA where I had to once again make new friends. While I wouldn't move again, my family would still travel often across the country to visit iconic places such as the Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon (where this picture was taken).
Moving around and traveling taught me how to adapt to unfamiliar environments, be flexible, and build connections with others. All the places I experienced broadened my worldview and helped me appreciate both the world that I live in and the opportunities available to me.
I am forever grateful to my parents for all the experiences I have gotten from traveling, and I hope to have many more in future.
