Alexander Villagomez grew up in Sacramento, CA where he attended the Met Sacramento, a Big Picture Learning high school. As a part of the second graduating class in 2008, Alex transitioned to the local Community College and quickly became frustrated with the education system, leading him to become a pioneer in the new College Unbound program through Roger Williams University in Rhode Island in 2009.
Since pioneering the Big Picture high school (in both Sacramento and Fresno), Alex has pioneered in higher education with College Unbound, in an international travel program to South Africa, and a pioneer domestic travel program based around Social Justice along the Mississippi River, as well as the College Unbound opening at Southern New Hampshire University as the Program Coordinator during their start-up year.
Since then, Alex has explored Higher Education working at both SNHU as the Assistant Coordinator for Residential Learning Communities and Clark University as a Hall Director and adviser to NRHH. As he travels to California, he hopes to find work in a multi-cultural center.
