My name is Abieyuwa Josephine Eregie. I have 39 years of administrative and teaching experience in a wide variety of educational settings including 3 international schools in Lagos, Nigeria. I was previously the Principal of Emerald High School, Assessment Coordinator in Greensprings School and Director of Studies in Dowen College. Early in my teaching career I was involved in teacher preparation as a lecturer in College of Education, Ekiadolor-Benin for 18 years.
I have a broad range of experience as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, trainer and evaluation team member. I have been actively involved in student learning and assessment for learning, improvement of instruction and professional development in all the schools I have worked at. I have a first degree in Chemistry, PGDE and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration.
As an instructional leader, it is my greatest educational passion to support the development and implementation of sound curriculum through meaningful teacher training in order to maximize student learning. I like to help beginning teachers settle in their first teaching job, especially the first few weeks in the classroom. My first day in the classroom as a teacher was not exactly a tea party and I know there are many teachers out there who need some form of assistance. More experienced teachers will also find tips that will make teaching more exciting and also make them look forward to their next lesson.
