Afamefuna Odiwe
Project Manager, Small Business Owner, and Life Coach in San Francisco
I am Afamefuna Odiwe, an analytics-driven operations professional based in the San Francisco Bay Area. My professional journey has brought together experience in operations, informatics, healthcare data systems, analytics, and business administration, giving me a multidisciplinary perspective on how data, people, processes, and policies work together.
Since 2022, I have worked in operations with the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), where I am involved in transit field operations, workforce conduct, compliance, and service standards. My work combines frontline coordination with data-informed decision-making, helping support operational efficiency and the delivery of reliable public transportation services.
Before joining SFMTA, I worked as an informatics analyst at Absolute Caregivers in San Mateo. In that role, I worked with sensitive healthcare-related datasets, including electronic health records, insurance claims, and payroll information. This experience strengthened my understanding of data accuracy, information management, process optimization, and the importance of handling sensitive information responsibly.
My professional experience has taught me that effective operations depend on more than individual decisions. Strong systems require accurate information, clear processes, collaboration, accountability, and a willingness to continually identify opportunities for improvement.
Education and Development
My educational background began at James Logan High School in Union City, followed by studies at Chabot College. I later earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
My education in business administration, combined with practical experience in healthcare informatics and public transportation, has allowed me to develop a broad understanding of organizations and the systems that support them.
I am particularly interested in analytics, operational performance, process improvement, and the ways data can support better decision-making.
Beyond My Professional Work
Outside of my career, I have a strong interest in health, fitness, nutrition, and personal development. I believe that consistency and discipline are important not only in professional environments but also in maintaining a balanced and productive life.
I enjoy continuing to learn, exploring new ideas, and developing a deeper understanding of the subjects that interest me.
My professional philosophy is simple: understand the information, think carefully, act with purpose, and continually look for ways to improve.
I continue to bring this mindset to my work, personal interests, and ongoing professional development.
