Africa Nature

Vescon Estate, Bamburi, Mombasa

The Africa Nature Organization (ANO), was registered as a not-for-profit organization under the Non-Governmental Organization Co-ordination Board on the World Wetlands Day (February 2nd) of 2012. The idea of forming ANO was mooted in 2009 and informally operated as a loose network of environmental/nature enthusiasts working across different organizations in natural resource management, private sector and the media.

By the time ANO was registered, it had build strong networks with community groups across Kenya, natural resource management practitioners, the media, academic and government institutions.

ANO is currently active in coastal and marine conservation initiatives, capacity development of community organizations, advocacy (through various networks locally and nationally) as well as research and innovation in environment and natural resources sector.
