Aga Safdar
Programme Management, Monitoring Evaluation & Learning, and Quality Assurance in UNICEF Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO), Nairobi, Kenya
I am Aga Safdar, a Programme Management, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), and Quality Assurance professional with more than 15 years of international experience helping humanitarian and development organizations strengthen programme quality, organizational performance, and evidence-informed decision-making.
Working across more than 25 countries in Asia and Africa, I have supported UNICEF, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), governments, and development partners to strengthen programme management, results-based management, evaluation systems, organizational learning, knowledge management, and digital transformation. My experience spans regional, country, and field operations across health, education, child protection, WASH, climate and environment, social protection, and emergency response.
I believe evidence creates value only when it informs action. Throughout my career, I have focused on building practical systems that improve programme quality, strengthen accountability, and enable organizations to learn, adapt, and deliver sustainable results. Whether developing regional evidence platforms, strengthening evaluation quality, building digital monitoring solutions, or supporting institutional capacity, my goal remains the same: transforming evidence into better decisions and better outcomes.
My leadership approach is collaborative, systems-oriented, and grounded in integrity, innovation, and continuous learning. I enjoy working with multidisciplinary teams and partners to strengthen institutions, improve programme effectiveness, and advance evidence-informed leadership across humanitarian and development settings.
