Agave Southwestern Grill
An award-winning restaurant in Naples, Florida, Agave Southwestern Grill features an extensive menu that includes more than 200 varieties of tequila. In 2012, the restaurant received multiple accolades in the Best of the Gulfshore Reader's Choice awards, including Best Bar, Best Mexican, and Best Family Friendly. In addition, Agave Southwestern Grill received recognition as a finalist in the categories of Best New, Best Kept Secret, and Best Brunch.
Opened in fall 2011, Agave Southwestern Grill offers cuisine with Spanish and Mexican influences, and primarily draws on favorites from Arizona and New Mexico. Diners can select from an array of appetizers, ceviche, sandwiches, burgers, main courses, and desserts. Notable first plates include mussels with a green mole and bison chili. Those interested in ceviche may choose from grouper and calamari, grouper and squid, or marinated scallops, among others. The restaurant makes gourmet hamburgers with black beans as well as buffalo and beef and also offers wood-fired sandwiches made with chicken and rib eye. Additionally, the chef prepares such Mexican specialties as tacos, tamales, and enchiladas. Those pining for a sweet treat can savor a tres leches coconut cake, a chocolate caramel layer cake, or sopaipillas, a type of pastry.
Throughout the year, Agave Southwestern Grill hosts a number of special events. In early May, the restaurant organized a daylong Cinco de Mayo party, with food and beverages, as well as a special appearance by a local disc jockey. The restaurant offers ongoing dinners crafted around specific tequilas with foods specially selected for accompaniment.
