Angeliki Athanasiadi is an award-winning visual communication designer specializing in branding and visual storytelling. She holds anMA (Hons) in Branding from Middlesex University London, where she was awarded a scholarship.
She is the founder and creative director of Graphic Stories Cyprus, an initiative that promotes visual communication through educational and cultural activities. Passionate about education and design practice, she teaches graphic design at the American University of Cyprusand at Alexander College / UK University Degrees, while also contributing to community education through the Strovolos Open School, offering courses for both children and adults. As acertified Vocational Training Instructor by the Cyprus Human Resource Development Authority (HRDA), she actively contributes to lifelong learning and professional development.
Alongside her design practice, she works as a Therapeutic Art Life Coach, focusing on mental empowerment through artistic expression and the connection between creativity, personal development, and wellbeing.
Angeliki has participated in more than 150 international poster exhibitionsaddressing social, environmental, and cultural themes. She has served as a jury member in numerous international design competitions across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, presenting her work worldwide. As aco-founding member of the World Industrial Design Association (WIDA), she actively promotes the connection between design, social responsibility, and innovation.
Her book, "Graphic Stories – Γραφιστορίες", which includes theoretical articles and interviews with prominent creators, has been approved by the Ministry of Education of Cyprus and received a Gold Design Awardat the Pygmalion Awards.
As the founder and creative director of the annual Graphic Stories ConFest, she aims to share knowledge, provide technical training, and explore contemporary trends in visual communication. She is also the creator of the Design Forum 10 Minutes Design Talksand has organized Behance Portfolio Reviews in Cyprustwice.
In 2021, she created and hosted the podcast Tell Me More at Alexander College, featuring interviews with renowned professionals from various disciplines, aiming to inspire students through real-life experiences and professional insights.
Angeliki has participated in several international conferences and exhibitions. In 2022 she took part in WIDC in China discussing the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and in 2024 she was invited to speak at the World Industrial Design Conference on “Designing the Future: From Social Responsibility to Artificial Intelligence”, focusing on the role of visual communication in the era of AI.
She represented Greece at the EUNIC exhibition in Beijing in 2022 in support of Ukraine and has also spoken at ICTVC in Greece and at CSR in Action in Cyprus. In 2023 she represented Cyprus at the Festival of Eastern European Design (FEED)in Warsaw.
As the coach of the Save & Share team, which promotes environmental awareness through social design within the European Solidarity Corps program, Angeliki and her team received the Bronze Award at the Cyprus Responsible Business Awards 2023 in the category NGO of the Year for the Environment.
Her poster “Cultural Heritage, One World – One Future”, which digitally interprets traditional Athenian embroidery, has been exhibited since December 2024 at the Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage at Yale University.
Angeliki is also the producer of the documentary Graphic Stories: Destinat10n, which follows the journey and challenges of Graphic Stories and has been screened at international festivals, including the Greek Documentary Festival DocFest.
In March 2025 she received the Study UK Alumni Awards 2025 – Culture & Creativity Award (Cyprus), presented by the British Council, in recognition of her contribution to visual communication and culture.
In August 2025 she represented Cyprus at the Calanca Biennale in Switzerland with her work in the exhibition TREE & ME. The exhibition was presented within the framework of the 11th edition of the international conference-festival of visual communication Graphic Stories in Paphos, which attracted more than 2,500 visitors.
