Prior to Methodist Hospitals, he spent five years in a Merrillville-based primary care private practice, during which time he also served as Associate Director of Urgent Care at Valparaiso Physician & Surgery Center. Other roles held by Ahmad Zegar, M.D., include Emergency Physician at Salem Community Hospital and Associate Medical Director for St. Joseph Family Medical Center, both in Salem, Ohio.
Certified in 1994 by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Ahmad Zegar, M.D., completed his residency in internal medicine through Ohio's Western Reserve Care System, where he received honors as Outstanding Resident of the Year for three consecutive years. During this time, Dr. Zegar trained at Beeghly Immediate Care, the Austintown Emergency Room, and the Youngstown-based Northside Medical Center. He finished his general internship at Chicago Medical School, where he had earned his Doctor of Medicine in 1987.
Educated at the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois at Chicago as well, Dr. Zegar holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the latter school. At present, Ahmad Zegar, M.D., resides in the greater Chicago metropolitan area.
