Ahmad Hilal is an Architect who is currently doing his Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering at Politecnico Di Milano as a GOLD scholarship holder. He moved to PoliMi just after finishing his bachelor degree in Architectural Engineering at MSA University with Honours; ranked as the third of his class. In parallel, he is working as a freelance architect in several architectural projects in MEA and Gulf area region.
His current focus is Building and Architectural Engineering, which includes integrated design methodologies of complex constructions, energy efficiency, buildings with high performances, building conservation and refurbishment, structural design, reliable sustainability credentials, and LEED principles.
He was a member in EZBET project design team, which is founded by AYB NGO, Ain-shams University and Stuttgart University. He is the co-founder of SEED activity group and volunteered an associate in BEE’iE’s Environmental NGO. Furthermore, he competed in several national and international competitions where he received several awards. He participated in a number of international workshops including Greenwich summer school (sustainable cities), AA (Architectural Association) Mittelmeerland international visiting school, (Desert Cities) at ETH Zurich as well as different series of other events related to sustainable development and environmental solutions.
In 2015, He was shortlisted to be part of the Advanced School of Architecture at Politecnico di Milano; it’s an advanced programme held in parallel to the Masters studies. Recently, he joined OBR-Open Building Research as a junior architect-intern, where he has been enrolled in the design team in several ongoing projects.
