Ahmed Mhiri

Ahmed Mhiri (born May 1983) is a Franco-Tunisian entrepreneur and investor, best known for founding the peer-to-peer car-sharing and airport-parking platform TravelCar and subsequently serving as CEO of Free2Move, the mobility-services brand under Groupe PSA (now Stellantis).
Early life and education
Ahmed Mhiri was born in Tunisia in May 1983. He graduated from the National Engineering School of Carthage (ENICarthage), Tunis, in 2006 with a degree in computer technologies. He later completed a specialized master’s degree in cybersecurity at the University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
He began his career in information systems security and project management at CertEurope and Keynectis, part of the Atos Group.
Career
TravelCar
In December 2012, Mhiri founded TravelCar in Paris, a platform enabling travelers to park for free at airports and train stations by renting out their vehicles to other users. By 2017, TravelCar had over 300,000 users and offered pickup and drop-off locations in over 60 countries worldwide. In February 2017, TravelCar closed a €15 million Series B funding round led by MAIF Avenir alongside Groupe PSA.
Acquisition by Groupe PSA and Free2Move
In February 2019, Groupe PSA acquired 99 percent of TravelCar’s parent company, which was later renamed Free2Move. Mhiri continued to lead the company as CEO, overseeing the brand's car-sharing, fleet management, and digital mobility services.

Mhiri has backed over 40 startups and invested in numerous funds supporting the French entrepreneurial ecosystem.
