Ahmet Onerbay is a Turkish entrepreneur and an influential public figure in the local Turkish-American community in Los Angeles, CA. He currently serves as Vice President of Icon Stone, Inc., a company that distributes natural stone and stone reagents. Among his most notable accomplishments is pulling the company back from bankruptcy during the most recent recession. Due largely to his efforts, Icon Stone subsequently ranked in the top 500 fasting growing companies in the United States.

He also serves as Executive Vice President at Western American Turkish Chamber of Commerce United and Strong (WATCH-US), a non-profit organization that focuses on trade missions and delegations to and from Turkey.

He was born on October 19, 1979 in Giresun, Turkey. He enrolled at Istanbul University in 1997, and graduated with a degree in History in 2001. He then moved to New York in the same year, and was accepted at City University of New York in 2002. He subsequently enrolled at New York University, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Political Science in 2005. Ahmet later moved to California and completed the “Strategy and Leadership” extension program at the Chapman University in 2009.

From 2012 to 2104, he served as the president of the Los Angeles Turkish American Association (LATAA), a subdivision of the Southern California Turkish American Association (ATASC). For a few years, he also served as a Director at the ATASC.

He is a published writer who has written numerous columns for major magazines and online resources. Among his most notable writing work are his many contributions to Turkish news website Alaturka Online, in which he addresses issues that are of interest to the Turkish-American community. He has published a number of articles on the website, including his most famous literary works “Çanakkale Zaferimizin 100. Yılı” and “Müthiş Zeka!

A gifted public speaker, he derives a great deal of fulfillment educating his fellow citizens on Turkish History and International Policies, subjects in which he has spoken extensively in speaking engagements all over the United States. He is proficient in three different foreign languages: English, Spanish and Turkish.
