As the CEO and co-founder of I LIKE YOU, he specializes in transforming undervalued intellectual properties and dormant assets into commercially scalable ecosystems across film, television, music, publishing, consumer products, and digital platforms.
A trusted steward of legacy brands, Zappa has achieved extensive global music sales success across physical, retail, and streaming platforms. He has produced over 25 major-label albums and box sets, led catalog strategies that consistently generate tens of millions of dollars in revenue, and engineered the multi-year revitalization of the Frank Zappa estate, culminating in a landmark, unprecedented acquisition by Universal Music Group. His expertise in IP elevation extends to cross-industry licensing and strategic partnerships, having forged successful collaborations with Funko, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., and Third Man Records.
In film and television, Zappa originates and develops high-concept properties alongside major studios. Through his banner, Monsterfoot Productions, he conceived and produced Walt Disney Pictures’ The Odd Life of Timothy Green and developed original projects for Sony Pictures, Nickelodeon, and the Jim Henson Company. A veteran of documentary and unscripted television, his credits include producing the critically acclaimed Zappa (Magnolia Pictures) and Eat That Question (Sony Pictures Classics), as well as executive producing Music’s Greatest Mysteries and Rock My Collection for AXS TV.
As a franchise creator and publishing executive, Zappa has authored over 20 acclaimed books, including Because I’m Your Dad and The Monstrous Memoirs of a Mighty McFearless, which was acquired by Jerry Bruckheimer Films. He co-created the Disney property Star Darlings, driving its expansion across animation, publishing, music, and Jakks Pacific retail toylines. Within Disney, he also spearheaded the Kingdom Comics division, a hybrid initiative designed to re-imagine live-action assets into graphic novels for future motion picture franchises. As EVP of Global Business Development at Eyellusion, he pioneered live hologram touring for the global music market.
