Matthew Vestuto
Vallejo, California
Born in Oxnard, California... raised up and down the west coast, I presently live in Corvallis, Oregon. I am a proud member of the Barbareño/Ventureño Band of Mission Indians.
A graduate of The Evergreen State College, my primary work is revitalizing mitsqanaqan̓ lo’ka’ałhašǝ’ǝš (Ventureño Chumash language.)
I am very honored to serve on the Board of Directors for the Advocates (AICLS.) As a board, we inherit a legacy of innovative programming for language revitalization that has reverberations around the globe. From the Master Apprentice Program to the Breath of LIfe Language Restoration Workshop, AICLS provides guidance in a perilous time for minority languages.
