Aida has had a career spanning over 25 years in banking, development finance, and management consultancy.

She has worked with and in several organisations – both large corporates and SMEs in various sectors to help them realise their value through change management, operational management, financial management, human capacity development and business transformation.

She started her career at Citibank in Nairobi, Kenya after completing a BSc in Financial Services from the University of Buckingham, UK. She moved to Johannesburg, South Africa to work in the then Sub-Saharan Africa Division Operations & Technology team as a Business Analyst. She left Citi after 11 years of service and her last role was that of Chief of Staff to the Head of Operations & Technology for Africa covering 14 countries with a team of over 700 staff.

Currently she is the Director of PayG Operations at Sun King, the world’s largest off-grid solar energy company with cutting-edge product design, affordable financing, and a grassroots installation model to provide energy to the 1.8 billion people across Africa and Asia.

In February 2022, she took on a 6-month project with PowerX Ltd, as General Manager. Her mandate was to set up the first tantalum and niobium refinery in Africa based in Bugesera, Rwanda that will be producing 45 tonnes of refined tantalum per month.

From November 2018 to January 2022, she was the Director of Global Business Operations at One Acre Fund based in Kigali, Rwanda where she managed the client data-based operations (including Analytics) and customer experience for the 7 countries with full scale programs. At the time she left, she had set up the Center of Excellence for client transaction processing for 6 countries which is projected to save OAF between $200K and $300K per annum through realising economies of scale of centralised processing.

She also worked as a Financial Analyst at Rumph and Associates providing technical assistance for the annual Expenditure Analysis process for PEPFAR (the American public health HIV/AIDS Fund) primarily in Uganda and Ethiopia from 2013 to 2018.

She has a passion for training and human capacity development having spent 2 years working as a consultant and facilitator in a training company in Johannesburg. She is a PROSCI Certified Change Management Practitioner.

In March 2026, Aida was accepted to the Africa Impact Investing Fellowship (AIIF), hosted by AVPA in partnership with PFC Social Impact Advisors. AIIF is a premier executive fellowship designed to empower Africa’s next generation of impact leaders. It is a pan-African leadership accelerator specifically tailored to equip professionals with the knowledge, networks, and tools needed to mobilise and deploy capital for social, environmental, and economic transformation across the continent.

She has volunteered to coach and mentor small business owners through various channels such as Inkomoko (Rwanda) and the Goldman Sachs 10000 Women Certificate Program for Women Entrepreneurs (South Africa). Currently she is a volunteer for Girls for Girls (G4G) - a global mentoring program that aims to empower girls to lead.
