Growing up my life constantly revolved around sports. From the day I was born I would have to go to all of my older brothers’ soccer, football, basketball, or baseball games until I was finally old enough to start playing sports. I started off playing soccer and baseball but never really grew a real interest in those sports because of how slow they can be. It was not until I was eight that I found my favorite sport: lacrosse.
I instantly fell in love with lacrosse as it came completely natural to me. I enjoyed how fast the momentum of games can change in lacrosse since it is a game of runs. I ended up playing travel lacrosse for my whole life and then for my school teams in my hometown of Charlotte. I was named a captain in just my Sophomore year which is extremely rare. Interestingly enough, that was my only year as captain because I transferred to a private school for my last two years of high school. It was a big change in the talent between the two teams as my new school nearly won the state championship my senior year. Playing lacrosse is definitely something I miss now being in college but I will never forget the memories and the friendships I gained through that wonderful sport.
